We would not be able to operate in the field of critical care without an understanding of the medications we use, how they work, and how to correctly dose and administer them. Often we need to utilize medications for neuroemgencies quickly and on the spot for such things as status epilepticus treatment, managment of refractory ICP, and intubation and airway management.
